Health Canada and Pier1Imports, Inc. announced the voluntary recall of Chinese-made indoor/outdoor wall-mounted decorative lighting device on 9th January due to its drawback of easily overheating which may melt the plastic base and cause fire.

About 134 lamps are recalled this time, which are in the shape of dragonfly with 40 mini bulbs interweaving like the wing of dragonfly, known as the 32219 series (SKU code 2594619) as the red CSA marked on the power cord.

It is learnt that the lighting device was sold in Canada from February, 2012 to October, 2012. Four cases of lamp base melting caused by overheating from Canadian market have been reported to Pier1Imports, Inc. up to now; there were no injuries or damages reported yet, neither has Health Canada received any such reports so far.
